The DATRON double flute end mill with through coolant is an excellent tool for high speed, general machining applications in soft metals, harder non-ferrous alloys, plastics and wood.
The DATRON double flute end mill with through coolant utilises internal channels inside the tool to deliver cooling capability directly to the cutting edge of the tool. This through coolant channel provides the tool with excellent thermal stability through the tool and into the workpiece, allowing for faster feed rates and greater chip loads. The through tool coolant channel also directs coolant into the workpiece during the cut, assisting with chip evacuation and chip management.
The through tool coolant channel is compatible with air blast cooling, MQL coolant (oil or alcohol) and flood coolant systems.
This tool is balanced, with a rigid carbide core. This large core provides the tool with great milling stability even at smaller diameters, and in harder non-ferrous alloys such as bronze, copper and zinc. These tools are ideal for high speed machining applications using higher powered spindles with through coolant capabilities.
