The DATRON CrossCutter is a unique single flute end mill designed for highly efficient roughing operations in soft metals, plastics and wood.
The DATRON CrossCutter is specifically designed for highly efficient, full depth adaptive roughing toolpaths, however generates very small and short chips. This feature allows for improved swarf management by evacuating small chips from the cut, reducing likelihood of chip recutting common in typical end mills from continuous, long ribbon chips.
Small and short chip formation also allows for efficient chip management inside the machine. Smaller chips are lighter and more easily moved by a machines swarf management system, and greater packing density of chips into swarf bins reduces instances of bins requiring emptying.
The DATRON CrossCutter utilises a unique twin helix single flute design, that engages the staggered cutting edges as if there is one continuous cutting edge, allowing for highly dynamic roughing in high RPM spindle applications.
DATRON CNC tooling is developed and manufactured by DATRON in Germany using the highest quality, micro-grain VHM carbide.
