The DATRON triple flute copper roughing end mill features serrations along the cutting flute edges. These serrations are used to break the chips into smaller pieces, improving chip removal from the workpiece. This is especially useful in gummy, highly heat conductive metals such as copper.
These serrations allow for efficient roughing in copper for high speed machining applications. Specialty copper roughing tools allow for faster feed rates and increased material removal rates.
