Collection: DATRON Micro-tooth end mill, for fiberglass & carbon fiber, X.CEED or Diamond coating
The DATRON Micro-tooth X.CEED coated end mill is ideal for machining composites such as fiberglass and carbon fiber.
Micro-tooth end mills utilise specific geometry enabling machining in a range of highly abrasive materials. These cutters are ideal for fiberglass, PCB composites (such as FR4), carbon fibre (CFRP) composites and a range of resin systems such as epoxy, polyester, vinylester and phenolic resins.
The 8 flute, upcut and downcut tool geometry removes material in both directions. This reduced the opportunity for composite edges to splinter, delaminate or fracture during machining. This tool is also ground with a tip capable of plunging into the composite workpiece.
X.CEED coatings are optimised for high-speed machining applications in hard materials such as abrasive composites. X.CEED coatings provide high hardness, increased oxidation resistance and elevated thermal stability.
Diamond coatings are optimised for high-speed machining applications in hard materials such as abrasive composites. Diamond coatings are applied through a chemical vapour deposition process, and provide the highest hardness of all DATRON carbide coatings (10,000 Hv micro hardness).
DATRON CNC tooling is developed and manufactured by DATRON in Germany using the highest quality, micro-grain VHM carbide.
